Green Tree School & Services in Philadelphia, PA is currently seeking a Speech-Language Therapist to provide services to children as part of the multi-disciplinary team. The Speech Therapist will promote development of communication skills through assessment, program planning and direct service.

Major Function: Evaluation

  • Perform or review screenings and assessments, including school or classroom-based screenings
  • Use results of screenings and assessments to inform treatment approaches and recommendations
  • Differentiate between communication disorders and differences, utilizing best practices
  • Identify speech-language impairments and evaluate need for school-based speech-language therapy  
  • Evaluate treatment outcomes for individual students, groups, and overall speech therapy program

Major Function: Service Delivery  

  • Provide continuum of support to students, including individual and group therapy  
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members in facilitating group therapy  
  • Provides services in alignment with student needs and research-based practices  
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education programs (IEP) 
  • Implement school-wide positive behavior support plan and individualized positive behavior plans  
  • Comply with federal, state, and organizational requirements for service delivery  
  • Major Function: Consultation and Collaboration  
  • Regularly participate in IEP meetings, program meetings, Child Study meetings, and student teamings  
  • Provide consultation to educators regarding language/literacy instruction and communication needs 
  • Collaborate with parents, districts, staff, and community to meet students’ communication needs  
  • Participate in admissions review, interview, and case consultation for new students   

Major Function: Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Devices  

  • Identify, recommend, and obtain AAC devices for students, including both low and high-technology  
  • Oversee the use, maintenance, and modification of AAC devices, including observing staff and providing feedback 
     

Major Function: Professional Development  

  • Design and conduct professional development regarding language, communication, and social/play skills  
  • Supervise graduate students and mentor or supervise professionals new to the field and/or setting  
  • Seek out continuing education experiences to update knowledge base and hone skills  
  • Participate in ongoing supervision with clinical supervisor
