Aaron School (Aaron) is a private K-12 special education school whose mission is to serve students with learning disabilities in the areas of reading, writing, and math in addition to attention, sensory and social challenges.   

In a safe and supportive school climate, Aaron provides integrated academic, enrichment, and therapeutic services with the goal of enabling each student to become a confident and successful learner. Offering an academically rigorous curriculum aligned with the New York State Learning Standards, Aaron employs an individualized approach to ensure student success while preparing them for successful post-secondary educational experiences and professional careers. 

Our Roles

Teachers

As a Head Teacher, you will join a faculty dedicated to presenting a relevant and challenging curriculum combining rich and varied content with individual skill development. You will create a learning environment that fosters self-advocacy and mutual respect for the community. You will develop dynamic partnerships with parents and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of professionals to support the students’ social, emotional and academic growth.

Clinical Services

The Clinical Services team includes Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselors, Nurses and other specialists who meet regularly to discuss each student’s progress and review classroom dynamics. You will provide individual treatment and group therapy and collaborate with the educational staff to provide a comprehensive program to each student. Communication is a key element to Aaron’s philosophy and ensures consistent educational plans.

Administrators

The Administrative Team leads and nurtures a safe and supportive school climate that fosters healthy social relationships. The team includes a Head of School, Principals, Directors, Admissions Director, Educational Supervisors, Business Manager, and Administrative Assistants. As a member of this team, you will join a community that strongly believes student learning should be ambitious and goal oriented, while fostering the development of individual strengths and effective communication skills. You will work together to foster a commitment to the profession of education, a sense of purpose and accomplishment, and opportunities for individual development within a program that strives for excellence.
