Sage Alliance

Sage Alliance High School in Rochelle Park, NJ is seeking a Custodian for a full-time position with a start date as soon as possible. Sage Alliance is a private, therapeutic school that serves the needs of students in grades 9 through 12 with social and emotional challenges. As a Custodian, you will play an important role in our school by providing students, staff and administration with a building and environment that is clean, safe, and well-maintained.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain schedule of building maintenance and cleaning
• Oversee outside vendors when used for maintenance, including fire extinguisher service
• Maintain building boiler system
• Pick up lunches from vendor (on occasion when necessary)
• Clean lavatory basins, inside/outside surrounds of sinks
• Clean traps/fill drain traps
• Refill toilet paper, paper towel and soap dispensers
• Wipe tiles, polish mirrors, empty trash cans and clean and mop floors
• Vacuum carpet and spot clean where necessary
• Sweep/vacuum and damp mop all hard flooring
• Damp dust furniture/desks, dust and damp wipe fixtures & fittings (skirting, pipes, window ledges)
• Empty trash and remove marks from glass, doors and walls, clean telephones in all classrooms, group rooms, staff rooms, offices, meeting rooms and library
• Wash/clean outdoor building surfaces such as windows, frames, doors, sidewalks, asphalt, etc.
• Keep grounds/parking lot free from trash, leaves and debris
• Empty outside trash containers
• Sweep, shovel and salt building entrances/exits
• Salt slippery areas of parking lot, sidewalks and stoops when necessary
• Assess and report any unsafe conditions 
• Occasional travel to other Sage Alliance locations in Paramus, Mahwah, Boonton and Princeton
