Your Role as a Therapist
- Provide Individual and Group Counseling – Conduct individual counseling sessions twice per week, group counseling sessions twice per week, and family counseling once per week to help students and families gain insight into challenges and support meaningful growth and change.
- Deliver Crisis Intervention – Provide immediate counseling and emotional support during crises or emergent situations that arise throughout the school day.
- Maintain Clinical Documentation – Keep accurate and confidential clinical records in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards, including attendance, session notes, and relevant updates to student files.
- Prepare Clinical Reports – Develop discharge summaries when appropriate and complete comprehensive end-of-year clinical summaries for each assigned student.
- Engage in Clinical Supervision – Present cases weekly in individual supervision with the Clinical Director and actively use feedback to enhance therapeutic techniques and professional development.
- Contribute to Clinical and Educational Resources – Write clinical articles for the school newsletter and create presentations for staff meetings on topics related to special education, emotional development, and therapeutic practices.
- Support Educational Teams – Collaborate with teachers and staff to provide clinical insight, consultation, and strategies that promote student success and emotional well-being in the classroom.
- Participate in School Community – Attend and contribute to staff meetings, offering clinical perspectives that enhance the multidisciplinary approach to student care.
- Promote Safety and Professionalism – Perform all job responsibilities in a safe, ethical, and professional manner, adhering to the safety practices and standards established by Sage Alliance.
- Collaborate and Contribute – Attend school-related functions as requested and take on other responsibilities assigned by the Clinical Director or Principal that contribute to a positive learning experience for all students.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work or counseling
- Valid School Social Work Certification or School Counselor Certification
- LPC or LCSW (preferred)
