Your Role as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

• Support Student Health: Assist the Nurse by collecting medical paperwork, recording vital signs, administering first aid, and helping students with self-care tasks.
• Administer Medications: Dispense medications when the Nurse is unavailable, after completing the required Medication Administration course.
• Monitor and Document Health: Complete and record student vision, hearing, height, and weight screenings; observe and report behavioral or physical symptoms; maintain confidentiality in line with FERPA.
• Respond to Emergencies: Conduct student evacuations according to policy, apply non-violent crisis intervention techniques, and ensure safety at all times.
• Manage Supplies and Ensure Compliance: Track medical inventory needs, follow company procedures, wear appropriate PPE, and adhere to health and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with School Staff: Work closely with the Nurse and educational staff to maintain a positive team environment and share relevant student observations.

Preferred (Nice to Have) Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children with special needs
• Previous experience working in a school setting

Required Qualifications

• Must have an active PA Nursing Assistant certification
