For over 35 years, Rivermont Schools has provided therapeutic education to students ages 5-22 in grades K-12 who have autism spectrum disorder (ASD), behavioral challenges, or learning difficulties in traditional school settings. Your Role as a Positive Behavior Support Leader

Supervise & Support MHA Staff – Actively oversee Mental Health Associates (MHAs) in planning and delivering social-emotional learning content, ensuring alignment with student needs and program goals.

Lead Incident Debriefs – Facilitate analysis and discussion following serious behavioral incidents to identify root causes and improve intervention strategies.

Monitor Incident Reporting – Review Riskmaster and serious behavior incident reports regularly to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely documentation.

Train & Mentor MHAs – Provide coaching on behavior management techniques and guide MHAs in developing effective behavioral interventions.

Coach in Real-Time – Offer immediate, on-the-spot coaching during behavioral incidents to ensure appropriate intervention and student support.

Ensure Campus Safety – Use independent judgment and decision-making skills to maintain a safe and secure school environment.

Drive PBIS Implementation – Serve as a core member of the Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) leadership team, supporting training efforts, collecting and analyzing data, and promoting data-driven decision-making across staff.

Operate School Vehicle – Transport students and staff in accordance with school policies and vehicle operation guidelines.

Travel as Needed – Attend off-site meetings, professional development sessions, and assist with student transportation when required.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff.
- Active listening and emotional intelligence to support students’ needs.
- Ability to foster a positive, professional school environment with patience and adaptability.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication.
Preferred (Nice to Have) Qualifications:
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) certification.
- Experience working in special education, mental health, or behavioral support such as an ABA Therapist, Direct Support, Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), Behavioral Health Technician, Paraprofessional, or Teacher Assistant.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Psychology, Special Education, Behavioral Science, or a related field (all degree types considered).
