Your Role as a Social Worker:
- Conduct Clinical Assessments- Perform clinical interviews during the admissions process and provide supplemental assessments using screening tools, risk assessments, and observations to develop short-term, evidence-based intervention plans tailored to student needs.
- Deliver Direct Services- Provide individual and group counseling using brief treatment protocols and facilitate weekly skill-based group interventions to address intensive social and emotional challenges.
- Crisis Response & Risk Management- Deliver timely risk assessments and crisis interventions to ensure student safety, and coordinate access to emergency psychiatric services when necessary.
- Monitor & Evaluate Progress- Collaborate with school teams to evaluate student progress within a multi-tiered system of supports, using observations, interviews, and appropriate assessment tools.
- Consultation & Collaboration:- Actively participate in school meetings and consult with parents, staff, and external partners to address barriers such as attendance, mental health, and homelessness, ensuring cohesive support plans for students.
- Advocacy & Resource Connection- Support families in accessing community-based resources and services, promoting engagement through culturally responsive practices that enhance the student’s educational experience.
- Documentation & Compliance- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all required clinical documentation, including communication logs, therapy notes, and intervention plans.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Pennsylvania
- Valid Act 34, Act 151, and Act 114 clearances
- Minimum of two years’ experience in school settings (internship experience may qualify)
- Preferred experience working with students with autism and emotional disturbances
- Demonstrated experience supporting culturally diverse populations
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to child welfare and special education
