Your Role as a Special Education Teacher:
- IEP Development & Instruction – Create and implement IEPs, lesson plans, and instructional strategies that meet each student’s individual needs and goals.
- Documentation & Reporting – Timely submission of IEPs, progress reports, and evaluation documentation.
- Collaboration & Communication – Partner with parents, multidisciplinary teams, and school staff to support student success.
- Classroom Management & Behavior Support – Maintain a structured learning environment using behavior management and intervention strategies.
- Assessment & Progress Monitoring – Track student progress through evaluations, assessments, and behavioral data collection.
- Safety & Compliance – Follow all safety policies, including PPE use and confidentiality, while supporting students’ self-care needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Active PA Teaching Certification is required, such as a Private Academic Certificate or Level I/II PA Instructional Special Education Certification (K–12).
- Candidates with a bachelor’s degree and six credits in special education may qualify for a Temporary Private Academic Certificate.
- Must have or be eligible for a PA teaching license by August 1, 2025.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
