Your Role as a Mental Health Professional
- Counseling & Intervention: Conduct individual and group counseling sessions, provide crisis intervention, and facilitate social skills development to support students’ emotional and behavioral needs.
- Assessment & Individualized Planning: Conduct needs assessments, evaluate academic and socio-emotional development, and develop tailored intervention plans, including IEP goals and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
- Collaboration & Team Support: Work with special education teams, participate in multidisciplinary meetings, and oversee therapeutic staff-student relationships to improve effectiveness and ensure comprehensive student support.
- Classroom & Staff Support: Deliver classroom-based lessons on emotional regulation and coping strategies while providing professional development on mental health and social-emotional learning (SEL) for staff.
- Compliance & Confidentiality: Adhere to safety protocols, maintain student confidentiality per FERPA regulations, and follow company policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a mental health related field.
- Related license: LPC, NCC, LSW, LCSW, or LBS.
Preferred (Nice to Have) Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in special education settings for intensive needs students.
- Previous experience in behavior management and crisis prevention/intervention.
