Your Role as a School Psychology Intern:
- Facilitate Re-evaluation Meetings: Lead planning meetings to review existing data and determine if further testing is needed.
- Administer Assessments: Conduct assessments to measure cognitive, academic, behavioral, social, and emotional functioning, selecting the appropriate tools based on the referral concern.
- Review Reports: Analyze and interpret reports from local school districts and agencies, offering thoughtful recommendations.
- Lead Feedback Sessions: Guide IEP team meetings, collaborating with parents, school staff (LEA), and students when applicable.
- Provide Counseling Services: Offer evidence-based individual and group counseling to support student well-being.
- Conduct Intake Interviews: Meet with parents and students to gather important background information during intake admissions.
- Develop Programs: Design and implement research-based programs based on assessment findings to help students succeed.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate Program Enrollment: Must be enrolled in a graduate program in school psychology, with completion of university requirements and eligibility for internship.
- NASP-Approved Program: Preference for candidates from NASP-approved programs.
- Coursework Requirement: Must have completed 2 years of graduate-level coursework by the start of the internship year.
- References: Provide three references, including at least one from a current or former supervisor.
- Redacted Reports: Submit two redacted student reports from a school setting.
- Cover Letter: Include a cover letter explaining why you are applying for the internship with Green Tree.
- Resume: Provide a professional resume.
- Transcript: Submit a transcript from your current graduate program.
- Internship Guidelines: Include a copy of your university’s internship guidelines.
