Job Title: Director of In-District Services

Location: Remote, VA 

Join Rivermont Schools In-District Services (IDS) as we partner with local school districts to enhance special education by providing BCBAs, Teachers, RBTs, SLPs, and Paraprofessionals for their classrooms. Our mission is to empower educators and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students with diverse needs. Serving students aged 5-22 across multiple Virginia locations, we work alongside families and schools to create a safe, supportive environment that fosters academic and social success.

Your Role as a Director of In-District Services 

  • Provide Classroom Support – Assist teachers in implementing effective instructional activities. Offer resources and tools to enhance the learning experience. Help create a positive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Monitor & Track Student Progress – Regularly assess student performance and progress. Document and report findings to teachers and families. Use data to inform instructional decisions and tailor support.
  • Support Self-Help Skills – Encourage students to develop independence in daily activities. Teach practical self-help skills relevant to their age and abilities. Provide guidance and reinforcement to foster confidence.
  • Ensure a Safe Learning Environment – Maintain a secure and welcoming atmosphere for all students. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines. Address potential safety issues promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with Teachers & Families – Work closely with teachers to align strategies for student success. Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress. Involve parents in the educational process for better outcomes.

Required Qualifications:  

  • Master’s degree in education or human services field; AND
  • VDOE Special Education teaching licensure OR
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst and VA Licensed Behavior Analyst OR
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working in the special education system, including a minimum of three years teaching and/or supervisory experience.
  • Experience with various curricula, Individualized Education Plans, and Behavior Plans
