Your Role as a Mental Health Professional:
- Counseling Support: Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- IEP Collaboration: Partner with special education teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) with a strong focus on socio-emotional growth.
- Behavioral Interventions: Design, implement, and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) for students with emotional and behavioral challenges.
- Therapeutic Guidance: Oversee staff-student therapeutic relationships and provide recommendations to enhance their effectiveness.
- Classroom Education: Lead lessons on emotional regulation, self-advocacy, and coping strategies to support student development.
- Family Engagement: Strengthen home-school collaboration by working with families and providing resources to support students beyond the classroom.
- Collaborative Care: Coordinate with external therapists and service providers to ensure continuity of care and comprehensive student support.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in School Counseling, Psychology, Social Services, or a mental health-related field.
- PA professional license in counseling, social work, or a related discipline, or PA certification as a school counselor.
- Minimum of two years’ experience providing individual/group counseling services to children or working with students with disabilities (including emotional, behavioral, or learning challenges).
- Strong background in mental health counseling, SEL (Social-Emotional Learning), and trauma-informed practices.
- Knowledge of IEP processes, behavioral interventions, and school counseling best practices.
