Job Responsibilities:
Special Education Teacher for SH Varsity Acquisition Sub, LLC dba Rivermont Schools to work at our Lynchburg, VA loc. Establish appropriate instructional goals + objectives to align w/ state assessments. Plan instruction + student evals based on understanding of content, student needs, curriculum standards, + community. Adapt instructions for diverse learners + utilize variety of teaching practices based upon classroom evals + benchmark assessments. Implement IEPs to accord w/ students’ academic + behavioral goals utilizing accommodations + modifications for access to appropriate curriculum. Incorporate applied behavioral analysis strategies w/ best instructional practices. Use appropriate evals + assessments to determine student mastery of content + make instructional decisions. Communicate student achievements + progress to students, parents, + others as appropriate. Graph, update, + maintain individual student programs. Use research-based classroom strategies. Work w/in classroom team to dev + implement behavioral support plan. Schedule + conduct team meetings. Collect quality indicator data. Doc reqs + maintain state licensure. Position primarily teaches grades 9-12, but may be asked to teach grades K-12 based on school needs. May undergo background checks including drug screening. Must obtain Mandt certification post-hire.
