Job Responsibilities:

  • Conducting assessments and interpreting data to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families to implement effective speech-language therapy activities tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Monitoring and adjusting treatment plans, ensuring clear communication among all team members.
  • Developing IEP goals and administering tests to support ongoing progress.
  • Providing insightful reports and recommendations for student needs.
  • Utilizing behavior management strategies to foster a positive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • A master’s degree from an accredited academic program.
  • Active ASHA certification for speech-language pathologists (CCC-SLP) and/or audiologists (CCC-A).
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with child, parent/guardian, multidisciplinary team members, and other personnel involved in child’s educational/behavioral program.
  • Must have knowledge of child development and common behavioral disorders exhibited by children and adolescents.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) development and implementation.
  • Understanding and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and needs of students and families.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in counseling and education.

 

Preferred/Nice to have:

  • Previous experience working in a school setting, ideally as an SLP.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting students, especially those with special needs.
