Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage IEPs through the creating and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student with special needs.
- Monitor student progress through tracking and assessing student development, making necessary adjustments to keep them on the path to success.
- Responsible for managing challenging behaviors and implementing behavior support plans.
- Work closely with paraprofessionals, support staff, and parents to build a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
- Advocate for students ensuring compliance with educational laws and advocate for the rights and needs of students with disabilities.
- Create a positive and engaging learning space where every student feels supported and can thrive.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in special education, education or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Strong experience in creating, implementing, and managing individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Possesses a collaborative mindset with the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
- Passion for Special Education through patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students with special needs succeed.
Preferred/Nice-to-have:
- Master’s degree in special education, education or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
