Special Education Teacher at Meliora Academy

Join Meliora Academy, a private, special education day school serving students ages 3-22  with autism spectrum and related disorders. Utilizing evidence-based interventions, including applied behavior analysis, we provide individualized instruction and one-on-one support to help students reach their maximum potential. Our team of BCBAs, special education teachers, and related service providers work collaboratively with families and school districts to create a supportive, inclusive environment. 

What we offer: 

  • Compensation: Base salary ranging from $78,000.00 to $100,000.00, depending on education and experience.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and manage IEPs through the creating and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student with special needs. 
  • Monitor student progress through tracking and assessing student development, making necessary adjustments to keep them on the path to success. 
  • Responsible for managing challenging behaviors and implementing behavior support plans. 
  • Work closely with RBTs, support staff, and parents to build a supportive, inclusive learning environment. 
  • Advocate for students ensuring compliance with educational laws and advocate for the rights and needs of students with disabilities. 
  • Create a positive and engaging learning space where every student feels supported and can thrive. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in special education, education, or a related field from an accredited institution. 
  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). 
  • Strong communication skills for effectively engaging with students, parents, and staff. 
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team. 
  • Passion for Special Education, demonstrated by patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students with special needs succeed.
