Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

RESPONSIBILITIES | WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Data Interpretation & Treatment Planning: Speech Language Pathologists (SLP) interpret data, create and implement personalized treatment plans, and conduct assessments that set our students on the path to success.
  • Communication Skills Development: Nurture students’ communication skills through verbal expression, receptive language, and augmentative communication tailored to each of their unique needs. Be ready to get creative and adapt your therapy activities to engage and inspire each student!
  • Team Collaboration: Speech Language Pathologists (SLP) partake in a collaborative effort with a team of educators and clinical staff to ensure each student is receiving the most effective treatment plan.
  • Reports & Feedback: Create comprehensive and insightful reports and provide recommendations and feedback regarding students’ future needs.
  • Behavior Management: Speech Language Pathologists (SLP) navigate and implement appropriate behavior management techniques, utilizing strategies and tactics that foster a positive learning environment.
  • Supply Management: Manage and maintain all speech therapy supplies, including tracking and ordering new supplies when needed. 

QUALIFICATIONS | WHAT YOU BRING 

  • Communication & Listening: Mastery of verbal and nonverbal communication is crucial for this position, as well as the ability to actively listen and understand students’ needs.
  • Educational Achievements: Master’s degree in Speech Pathology and CCC/CF
  • Empathy & Patience: We strive to offer the most supportive environment for each of our students, who may often experience difficult communication challenges. Demonstrating empathy and patience during sessions is a must!
  • Clinical Knowledge: A deep understanding of speech disorders, their causes, and evidence-based intervention techniques. This includes assessment and evaluation knowledge for creating individualized treatment plans.
  • Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Each student has their own unique needs and challenges, therefore the ability to analyze and adapt therapy approaches and problem-solve in real-time is vital to this position.
