Therapist

New Story In-District Services (IDS) partners with local school districts to enhance special education services by providing BCBAs, Teachers, RBTs, and Mental Health Associates within schools. Our mission is to support and empower teachers, case managers, and paraprofessionals, ensuring optimal outcomes for students with various diagnoses. Through targeted support and professional development, we aim to improve the quality of education and contribute to meaningful improvements across the district.

Thrive Alliance is seeking a Clinician for a temporary leave replacement role from Nov ’24 – March ’25 with either LSW, LPC, LAC or LCSW credentials to support students’ social, emotional and academic growth in the Harrington Park School District in NJ for grades K – 8.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES | WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Help students and families gain insight into their difficulties and facilitate change with the student and family by: conducting individual, group and family psychotherapy; providing crisis intervention psychotherapy as needed to address emergent situations during the school day; completing biopsychosocial assessments as part of the intake/referral process; completing assessments as part of but not limited to suicidal/homicidal ideation, discharge summaries/planning, transition planning, goal progress.
  • Maintain student’s clinical file by: recording attendance entries of treatment sessions; completing treatment plans to be reviewed by Thrive designee and/or clinical supervisor every 90 days or as needed; completing quarterly progress reports; providing information on goal progress in relevant documentation such as IEPs, I&RS plans, 504 plans, treatment plans; recording chronological entries of treatment sessions; updating relevant clinical information.
  • Prepare discharge summary when applicable.
  • Prepare mid and end of the year clinical summaries.
  • Present cases in weekly individual/group supervision and use supervision for ongoing development of clinical skills and techniques.
  • Produce clinical articles for school newsletter, as requested.
  • Prepare clinical presentations for staff meetings regarding issues pertinent to presenting needs.
  • Support educational staff through clinical intervention and sharing of knowledge with educational staff.
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Attend school-related functions as requested.
  • Perform other appropriate duties directly related to a good learning experience for the students as assigned by the Clinical Director, Clinical Coordinator, or Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS | WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Master’s in Social Work or Counseling.
  • LSW, LCSW, LAC or LPC 
  • Must have current NJ license.
  • Ability to establish working alliances with students, staff and families.
  • Knowledge of developmental theory and interventions with students, groups and families.
