Clinical Director (BCBA)

New Story Schools is looking for a Clinical Director who will be responsible for oversight of the clinical component within school programs. As the Clinical Director, you will oversee behavior plan development in accordance with the Individual Education Plans (IEP) and provide direction on behavior interventions/ management to staff within the classroom setting.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work collaboratively with the Special Education Director on clinical and educational components within the school to ensure consistency between IEP and Positive Behavior Support Plan
  • Provide direction on appropriate behavior management strategies and techniques to maintain a safe and effective learning environment
  • Participate in the IEP process by attending IEP meetings and working collaboratively with team members to develop the Positive Behavior Support Plan
  • Review data collection/documentation, outcome reports, and behavior plans and make recommendations for ongoing behavior plan revisions
  • Conduct training needs assessment and provide training to staff
  • Communicate routinely with parents and encourage parental participation in the behavior plan
  • Ensure special education teachers and all classroom staff adheres to appropriate clinical practices
  • Adhere to hiring and disciplinary/termination procedures and engage in the staff interviewing and disciplinary process
  • Ensure employees enrolled in an ABA certification program receive sufficient supervision hours to meet program requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in education or human services field; AND Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification (preferred) or valid PA professional license in counseling, social work or another related field
  • Five years’ experience working in a clinical capacity providing services to children diagnosed with Autism or Autism-related disorders using ABA theories and philosophies, including a minimum of three years supervisory experience
  • Must possess the ability to perform non-violent crisis intervention techniques, including verbal and physical redirection and guidance of potentially physically aggressive students
  • Must possess the ability to react quickly and be sufficiently mobile to redirect students that could be injurious to themselves or others
  • Must have advanced knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and behavior modification concepts
  • Must have knowledge of common behavioral disorders exhibited by children and adolescents
