Assistant Director of Behavior Services

Green Tree School & Services is seeking a qualified Assistant Director of Behavioral Services is a member of the school’s administrative team and would report directly to the Director of behavioral Services. The Assistant Director of Behavioral Services is responsible for program-wide supervision, consultation, development, implementation, and review. The Assistant Director will provide oversight and support in the areas of training, crisis management, data collection, milieu control, and the implementation behavior support strategies. The Assistant Director of Behavioral Services will also be a part of the team charged with leading the school in the development and implementation of best practice positive behavior support strategies

Supervision & Administrative Oversight

  •  Provide direct supervision, administrative oversight, leadership, support, and guidance to the Behavioral Support team to ensure that they perform their roles safely, and effectively.
  • Manage the hiring and onboarding of 1:1 Educational Assistant personnel.
  • Manage caseloads and assignments for the behavioral services teams.
  • Oversee the billing process for 1:1 Service personnel, including all accompanying
    documentation.
  • Direct and support the implementation of the Intensified Tiers systems of behavioral supports.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on student and programmatic behavioral data including frequency data, the use of replacement skills, incident report monitoring and use of restrictive procedures conjunction with behavior analyst and Director of behavioral services.
  • Regularly review behavioral data, ensure that behavioral intervention data is updated, and managed, present the finding in program meetings.
  • Attend and contribute to student meetings as necessary to provide behavioral insight.

Training & Data Review

  • Train, and oversee the implementation of Non-violent crisis intervention protocols, including documentation of restraints/holds.
  • Lead the collection, analysis and reporting of student and programmatic behavioral data, including, quarterly data collection, frequency data, the use of replacement skills, incident report monitoring and use of restrictive procedures.
  • Provide crisis intervention training throughout the programs, including training new and returning staff, assessing proficiency, and providing refresher trainings.
  • Oversee and implement the protocols following Non-violent Crisis intervention episodes including posttension, emergency IEP participations, and state RISC reporting.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Education, Psychology or related field preferred
  • Experience:
    • 3 years of experience managing challenging behaviors in a school setting.
    • Experience with the delivery &implementation of behavior change services to children with special needs.
    • Collecting and collating behavior data
    • building positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Supervisory experience in a school or clinical setting.
  • Current (within 6 months) clearances (Act 168, FBI, Child abuse, etc.)
  • Experience in managing and implementing a school wide PBIS system.
  •  Training and experience in non-violent crisis intervention.
  • Ability to write and complete routine reports.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a verbal and/or written manner.
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to communicate with coworkers, administration, clients, vendors, and others in a courteous
    and professional manner.
