Receptionist/Administrative Assistant

Aaron School is a private special education school that provides integrated academic, enrichment, and therapeutic services to children in grades K‐12, with the goal of enabling each student to become a confident and successful learner. Aaron School is seeking a Receptionist/Administrative Assistant at its 45th Street location (Elementary/Middle School division). Offering an academically rigorous curriculum aligned with the New York State Learning Standards, Aaron employs an individualized approach to ensure student achievement while preparing them for post-secondary educational experiences and professional careers.

The hourly rate of pay for this position ranges from $24 per hour to $28 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.  


  • Multitask various responsibilities of the front desk (visitor greeting and control, interact with parents and students, direct visitors to appropriate personnel, answer phones and handle inquiries, etc.)
  • Monitor visitors entering building to ensure security (issue visitor passes and log arrivals/departure)
  • Manage arrival/dismissal busing process
  • Communicate with bus drivers, parents, teachers and students
  • Send reminder emails to parents and bus personnel regarding half days/school closures 
  • Coordinate student database online registration process and manage files/correspondence for incoming and existing students
  • Coordinate and maintain various student databases and transportation portals
  • Distribute directories, class lists, student reports and notices
  • Maintain inventory of supply closet including ordering and dispensing teacher supply requests
  • Create and maintain school MS Outlook calendar
  • Set up meetings and events as well as provide event support
  • Monitor retrieval of clinical services evaluation/treatment paperwork
  • Other responsibilities at the discretion of the Head of School, Principal and Business Manager


      • Detail oriented, organized and a team player
      • Strong communication skills and customer support
      • Proficient in MS Office and database usage
      • NYS Notary License required (can be obtained within 3 months of hire)
      • Able to work independently on projects
      • Ability to multitask
      • Demonstrates a professional demeanor
